Hello Everybody and Welcome to Tidal Gifts for the 2018 season.
We thought it best to give you all a little update as to what we have been doing for the past 8 months and a brief overview as to what our basic thoughts and plans are for the upcoming months.
After a successful 8 weeks of trading last summer, we were extremely happy with what we had achieved in such a short space of time. Whilst Mairi-Anne worked full time at another property in Achmelvich and Sheila had only just recently retired, we fully didn’t expect to launch Tidal Gifts as quickly as we did. Last summer we successfully launched Tidal Gifts in our own home before transferring operations to our purpose built cabin at the front of our property. This was definitely a defining moment for our new company.
Since closing our doors for the season in September of last year, we think it’s fair to say we have kept ourselves busy. In October of 2017, Mairi-Anne upped sticks and moved to Australia for 7 months working and living in New South Wales, Tasmania and Victoria. Not too dissimilarly, Sheila spent 7 weeks travelling around Australia, New Zealand and Asia in November/ December with her husband Rod in order to celebrate her 60th Birthday and their 40th Wedding Anniversary. On her return to Scotland Sheila spent her time volunteering in Edinburgh as well as investing time in our second company, Tartan Up. But we can get into that another time...
Flash forward to present day and despite a couple of issues surrounding suppliers, leaking coffee machines, exploding microwaves and weather damaged property, we are READY TO OPEN both our physical and virtual doors for the 2018 season.
This summer we hope to focus our attention on our clothing line and accessories range as well as investing time in beach clean ups and fundraising for local charities. We are also looking to develop our food and drinks menu in the hope that we will finally be able to get Mairi-Anne on the coffee machine!
So please, do come in. Take a look around our website and if you’re in the area or planning a trip to Assynt, then please do consider popping into our shop. Up to date Opening Hours will be made available on our Facebook Page.
