At Tidal Gifts we are passionate about all of the partners and suppliers who we choose to work with. Working from home has meant that we need to be particularly selective when choosing which suppliers we feel best meet the needs of our customers, and fit well with our brand. Where possible we strive to work with locals, people who have a love for our special part of the world (Scotland), or who we believe have similar ethical and sustainable values as us.
The current partners and suppliers featured on our website and in store are NC500 Pods, Cascayde, Izzy's Jewellery, J Boult Designs and Bay Brights.
NC500 Pods: Located just a few steps away from our shop is the newest accommodation in Achmelvich. North Coast 500 Pods is glamping at its finest. Having launched in May 2019, NC500 Pods have already been awarded “Best Glambing” at the 2019 Scottish Outdoor & Leisure Awards. Here’s a little about what they have to say of their venture: “Our handmade timber pods are fully insulated and feature underfloor heating, making them ideal for when the weather is more Motherwell than Miami. Each pod has a living space with L-shape sofa & dining table and a kitchenette with oven/hob, fridge & Belfast sink. The pods can comfortably sleep 4 (1 double bed and 1 double sofa bed) and have an en suite WC with on demand hot water & electric shower. All of our pods feature WiFi, in-built Bluetooth sound systems, smart TVs & USB wall sockets.” Please take a look at their website for details and bookings: http://www.nc500pods.co.uk.
Cascayde: We first started working with Cascayde in January, 2019 after meeting Carly at Scotlands Trade Fair. Over the coming months we designed our own "Achmelvich Coordinates" Zip Bag which we now sell online and in store. We also sell a number of other Zip Bags from Cascaydes own collection. We love working with this company as they partner with a number of organisations from around the world (South East Asia), who have a positive impact on local communities, as they provide alternative income streams for women who traditionally may struggle to find employment. Please take a look at their website for details: cascayde.com.
Izzy's Jewellery: Izzy (aka Isabel) is part of our extended family. She has visited Achmelvich since she was a little girl and started making her own jewellery eight years ago. Based in Aberdeenshire, Izzy makes her jewellery from home and sells her pieces at roadshows, fairs and online at izzysjewellery.co.uk. We stock a selection of Izzy's Achmelvich pieces but if you are looking for something other than her Achmelvich designs then please take a look at her her website or facebook page.
J Boult Designs: We have been stocking J Boult pieces since June, 2019. J Boult Designs are also based in the Scottish Highlands (Lochaline) and have created pieces using ethically sourced materials and by up-cycling waste. This is a practice we are particularly enthusiastic about, as we also strive to up-cycle and recycle when and where we can. www.jboultdesigns.com
Bay Brights: The Bay Brights Range is a collection of hand painted and carved wooden items inspired by the colours of Achmelvich Bay. These items are hand painted and coloured by Carolyn Swadel, an art teacher who visits Achmelvich every Summer.
