Tidal Gifts, is run by mother and daughter partnership, Sheila and Mairi-Anne MacLeod. We are both inspired by the beauty of Achmelvich Bay and the surrounding area of Assynt, and our experiences here and the environment have been pivotal in helping us develop the idea for Tidal Gifts. Sheila has spent the last four years, involved in running a church coffee shop in Edinburgh and loves being able to provide freshly made coffee and bakes only a stones throw from the beach. Mairi-Anne has primarily worked in hospitality since graduating, but her passion for arts and crafts has led to the opening of our shop in Achmelvich, where her gifts and talents in design can be showcased for others to enjoy. The name for our business also reflects the way we see ourselves going forward. Our ideas ebb and flow and are ever changing and many of our gifts are created from pieces washed ashore on the tide.
Tidal Gifts proudly support the local community and are committed to the advancement of research in Marine Conservation and the effects of climate change on a very special corner of Scotland.
We demonstrate our commitment by reducing our environmental footprint. Where possible we strive to limit unnecessary waste and advocate reusing and recycling whenever we can. At Tidal Gifts we happily donate a percentage of our profit to organisations who are committed to looking after our planet. We would encourage you to get involved in these efforts either by donating or by joining us at one of our beach clean ups!
